Hangar 83 Inc. Acquires the Majority Interest in Brant Aero

Brant Aero of Brantford, Ontario announced today that Hangar 83 Inc. owned by Blaine Field and Ken Tota acquired the majority interest in Brant Aero from Progressive Air Group of Kamloops, BC
Blaine Field became President of Brant Aero effective July 31, 2017.

We are excited to launch some new initiatives and make some investments into our facilities that will enhance and expand Brant Aero’s offerings to the industry. Background Information:
Brant Aero delivers aircraft Maintenance, Avionics, Interior and heavy repair and sheet metal rebuild services to many types planes from small private piston to multi turbo prop and small jets. Brant Aero was formed in 1972 by Terry Field (Blaine’s Father). Terry’s father, James H Field and his brothers Bud and Patrick joined soon thereafter. In 1983, after graduating Canadore College for Aircraft and Helicopter maintenance , Blaine Field joined the company. In 1986 Terry Field was returning from a routine parts pick up in Ohio in the company Cessna 210 when he entered a rapidly developing thunderstorm and was lost over lake Erie. James H Field retired shortly after but Bud, Pat and Blaine carried on the business , relocating to its current location in 1987. After 7 years, Blaine left the company to pursue his own business. This resulted in the formation of Phoenix Aviation in Brantford and later renamed Goderich Aircraft Inc. relocating to Huron Park , Ontario. In 2012, the majority interest was sold to a mainland Chinese company, New United Group. Blaine left New United Goderich Inc. in 2015 to run Geophysical Innovations and Services Inc. an aerial geophysical survey company doing low level survey for the Society of Geosciences of Colombia (SGC). In 2016, Blaine and his partner Ken sold their remaining shares in New United Goderich Inc. Bud Field retired in 2016 when the majority shares were sold to Progressive Air Group. Patrick will remain on staff to provided sage advice and support as well pursue and provide pilot services in his continued passion to fly.
